If I can steal you away for a few minutes from your absolutely, incredibly hectic life, I have something to share with you sweet mama. Everything you do, day in and day out matters. It may not feel like it as you’re picking up food off the floor that you cut into perfect toddler-sized bites only to be told it doesn’t taste good. It may not feel like you matter when you pass the mirror and see yourself, almost unrecognizable to the person you were pre-babies.
But I’m here to tell you, you are the most important person to the little one(s) you serve. You make the difference in how they feel about themselves and who they will become one day. Everything you do, all those little things that seemingly go unrecognized, matter. You matter!
One of my favorite sentiments and one that I cling to on the especially rough days is this: I am raising my best friends. I stop and think about the two little women in my care and how one day they will be my best friends (I hope so anyway)! This helps me keep perspective on the days when I’m deep in the trenches of motherhood.
Happy Mother’s Day to all the Mamas out there, and remember you matter so much more than you know.
